Minor Arcana · Wands

Seven of Wands

The high ground holds while you stand on it.

Upright · Reversed

Keywords: holding ground, defence from above
Upright: A position defensible but not restful. Advantage exists and costs continuous effort to keep.
Reversed: Defending what is no longer worth the ground; or abandoning a position at the first push.

In a three-card spread

In the Past position: Read as what is still exerting force — not what happened, but the part of it still pushing on the present.
In the Present position: Read as what is currently available, and where you actually stand. The spread usually turns on this card.
In the Future position: Read as tendency: where this leans if nothing changes. A statement about the present phrased as a direction — never a claim about what will happen.

Wands · Element: Fire

Wands govern drive: will, enthusiasm, the force that starts things. Their question is not whether a thing is right but whether there is still fire for it. Wands trouble is usually excess — burning too fast, carrying too much, charging in a direction nobody tested.

Seven

Seven is the moment that requires your own judgement: hold, choose, assess, go around. All four Sevens ask for a decision nobody can make for you.
