Which letter belongs to which path is not settled across schools. This site draws the Gra / Ari arrangement as its default; the Golden Dawn arrangement is noted as the alternative.

Tension
A window does not invite the light; it merely stops blocking it. One end of this path is unpremeditated primal sight, the other the mediated beauty of the centre: seeing is quick, seeing clearly is slow.
Essay
Heh is the fifth letter, its pictograph a window, and its number five. Among the twelve simple letters of the Sefer Yetzirah it is assigned to Aries, the first stirring of the zodiac's year. On this site's drawn Tree, following the GRA arrangement, Heh is the path between Keter, the Crown, and Chokhmah, Wisdom — the earliest reach from origin toward the first flash of seeing. The Golden Dawn attributes the letter differently, drawing it from Chokhmah down to Tiferet at the centre; the two traditions simply differ here, and it is worth holding both rather than pretending one is the single truth.
A window does not summon the light. It only stops blocking it. That is the letter's whole tension: seeing is quick — the world floods in the instant the shutter opens — but seeing clearly is slow. Raw sight arrives unbidden, while the patient work of letting what is seen ripen into understood beauty takes far longer, and cannot be hurried by wanting it more.
When Heh is drawn, take it as an invitation to contemplation, not a forecast. Sit with the letter as a window: notice how much of what you 'see' right now is unexamined first impression, and how much has been allowed the slow clarity that only time and attention give. This is hitbonenut — a steady, unhurried gaze — not a technique to perform. Ask where you might simply stop obstructing a light already there, rather than straining to manufacture insight. The window promises nothing about what you will see; it only keeps faith with the difference between glancing and beholding.
