Minor Arcana · Wands

Ten of Wands

The load arrived one reasonable piece at a time.

Upright · Reversed

Keywords: overload, carrying too much alone
Upright: Burden accumulated by never refusing. Each piece was defensible; the total is not.
Reversed: The load being set down; or a refusal to admit any of it can be.

In a three-card spread

In the Past position: Read as what is still exerting force — not what happened, but the part of it still pushing on the present.
In the Present position: Read as what is currently available, and where you actually stand. The spread usually turns on this card.
In the Future position: Read as tendency: where this leans if nothing changes. A statement about the present phrased as a direction — never a claim about what will happen.

Wands · Element: Fire

Wands govern drive: will, enthusiasm, the force that starts things. Their question is not whether a thing is right but whether there is still fire for it. Wands trouble is usually excess — burning too fast, carrying too much, charging in a direction nobody tested.

Its rank

Ten

Ten is the suit at its limit: overflowing, overloaded, finished, handed on. Past this it is no longer the same thing.
