Minor Arcana · Wands

Two of Wands

The map is drawn; the ground is untested.

Upright · Reversed

Keywords: survey, the plan not yet walked
Upright: Standing at the edge of a decided direction, before commitment. The view from here is genuine and also incomplete.
Reversed: Planning as a way of postponing; or moving with no view at all.

In a three-card spread

In the Past position: Read as what is still exerting force — not what happened, but the part of it still pushing on the present.
In the Present position: Read as what is currently available, and where you actually stand. The spread usually turns on this card.
In the Future position: Read as tendency: where this leans if nothing changes. A statement about the present phrased as a direction — never a claim about what will happen.

Wands · Element: Fire

Wands govern drive: will, enthusiasm, the force that starts things. Their question is not whether a thing is right but whether there is still fire for it. Wands trouble is usually excess — burning too fast, carrying too much, charging in a direction nobody tested.

Its rank

Two

Two is the smallest unit of relationship: two facing, or one split in two. Choice, parity, or the first time something has to be held in both hands.
