The Question You Keep Asking: Reading a Run of Casts as a Series

Go back three months in your journal and count how many entries are secretly the same question. It will not be word for word — it changes clothes each time. In May it was whether the job is worth what it takes. In June it was whether you are tired or unhappy. Last week it was whether to say something before the review. Four entries, one question, and you did not notice at the time because each of them arrived feeling new. Nearly every practitioner has one of these running, sometimes for years, and it is the most informative thing in the whole record — not because the readings were unclear, but because the returning is itself a report. Reading that report is a different skill from reading a figure, and nobody is taught it.
