When a Reading Lands Hard: What to Do With a Frightening Cast
Sooner or later a reading lands hard. You bring a question you actually care about, and what comes back is the Abyss, or a card called Death, or a tower with figures falling from it — and the careful account you had been giving yourself about your situation stops working. The minute after that is the most important minute in the whole practice, and almost nobody is taught what to do with it. Most people do one of two things, and both waste the cast: they explain it away by lunchtime, or they take it as a sentence and carry it around for a month. There is a third thing, and it can be learned.
